When We Are Closed
The surgery is closed between 18:00 - 08:00 Monday to Friday and from 18:00 on Friday to 08:00 on Monday at weekends. During these times Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group are responsible for emergency cover and they have contracted NHS111 as their out-of-hours provider.
They can be contacted on 111. If you ring the surgery outside of normal hours your call will be diverted to NHS111 at a cost to you, alternatively if you hang up and dial 111 your call will be free.
When your call is answered by NHS111, you will be asked a few questions to ascertain details of who you are and where you live, and a brief out line of your complaint. You may receive a home visit or be asked to attend one of the Primary Care Centres in Herefordshire.
Please note in the event of a power cut your call may not be automatically diverted. In these circumstances please call NHS111 direct .
NHS Direct Wales
Welsh Patients can access out of hours by calling NHS Direct on 0845 4647. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action. This could simply be by offering advice or where necessary by making arrangements for you to be seen by a doctor.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
